— March 20, 2020 —
After prayerful consideration, we have decided to temporarily suspend all Big Reach Center of Hope volunteer programming and public distributions from March 20, 2020 through April 5th, 2020. For the safety of our volunteers, recipients, and staff; sustaining these operations would mean potentially risking the health of those who would continue to attend. Even with our attempts to maintain “social-distance” and limit our volunteers to 10 people or less in a room, we feel that this temporary suspension is the necessary choice for these unprecedented times. As our COVID-19 response develops and changes, you can stay informed here on our website.
As an outreach ministry, we have analyzed the options currently available to us. We have kept up to date with our state’s recommendations and the CDC’s protocols. We will continue to pray for wisdom and seek guidance from local health officials pertaining to the safe retrieval and distribution of resources.
We will get back to serving our community as soon as we determine it is safe. Until then we offer some encouragement from Luke,12:22-24:
Then, turning to his disciples, Jesus said, “ That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life – whether you have enough food to eat, or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food and your body more than clothing. Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!
During this time, we can all be reminded that while so much is changing all around us, God is never-changing. He is in full control of every life, and peace is found by trusting in His power, not our own.
We look forward to serving with you all again soon!
